Uche Sparks Dominant Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Missing key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that virtually secures them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further three points in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure straight entry to the knockout stages, especially following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity

This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second consecutive match.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
