Automobiles in German Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Officers mentioned they were contacted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then found many other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials report preliminary tests indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.

City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for details.

A high-ranking political figure stated the incident left him speechless and required to be addressed quickly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
